Latin Name: Lepidium meyenii 

Lepidium meyenii (maca) is a Peruvian plant of the Brassica family cultivated for more than 2000 years, which grows exclusively in the central Andes between 4000 and 4500 m altitude. [2] Maca grows at a habitat of intense cold, extremely intense sunlight, and strong winds. [3].  Maca is a plant with great potential as an adaptogen (which means it helps the body to cope with stress).[2][3] 

Nutritional Values:

Minerals reportedly found in maca include iron, calcium, copper, zinc and potassium.   Maca is a good source of calcium.  Calcium contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal muscle function and neurotransmission, normal function of digestive enzymes.  Calcium is needed for the maintenance of normal bones and teeth. It is also a good source of iron, which contributes to normal cognitive function, to normal energy-yielding metabolism, to normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin, to normal oxygen transport in the body, to the normal function of the immune system, to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue a role in the process of cell division.

How To Use: Start by using small amounts of maca and build up slowly.  Add to smoothies, drinks or raw food dishes. Maca goes particularly well with raw cacao!

Dosage:  BUILD UP SLOWLY!!
